Flight Against Defeat

Location

I am the leaf flying through the wind; A steady flow that prickles my skin. Others of my kind join the ride Gathering towards a heavy tide Many fall and many drift Many crumple; motion too swift  In not too long, I float alone My endurance thick as stone.  I am the leaf flying through the storm; A battle that keeps me warm. Others of my kind lose the fight Escaping away from instant fright Many fear and many renounce  Many surrender; effort of no amount  In not too long, I reflect the sun My strength bright as if to stun.  I am the leaf  Who flies against defeat
