Flawless Imperfections

I once was weak,

But now am strong...

I once had family,

Now they're gone.

I once knew love,

But now am lonely.

I once held beauty,

But now am homely.

I knew the dark,

And feared the light.

I wanted to love,

But only knew how to fight.

I gave up joy for pure destruction.

I yelled for nothing,

Screaming "SCREW REPRECUSSIONS!"

I smiled in the face of danger,

And gave into my pointless anger.

I looked down on a burning city,

Told myself it's death was fitting.

I burned my bridges and tore my pages,

And as I did,

My memories faded.

I looked on from a far off place,

And watched the tears stream down my face.

I saw the people I'd caused Hell,

And realized I was an empty shell.

I thought their pain would mend my heart,

But all it did was rip me apart.

I knew I had to fix the broken,

In the process leaving my heart wide open.

I armed my sleeve with my heart still beating,

The fear I'd caused prior making them keep retreating.

I showed my heart with teary eyes,

Much to their obvious surprise.

I opened my mouth and uttered these words,

That they openly, yet very cautiously heard:

"I thought I knew the right direction,

But now am lost in my Flawless Imperfections.

I set out only to find my happiness,

Not once thinking I'd be this disasterous...

I broke a family and abandoned those I loved,

But now I am here to take off the gloves.

I'm ready to change and mend the destroyed,

I've tried for so long,

And can no longer avoid,

The emptiness dragging and weighing me down,

I just want the people I love back around."

They stared,

Eyes wide,

Ready to flee,

Then a familiar face smiled at me.

He looked with his eyes,

But saw with his heart.

Took my hand in his,

And said "Well, we may as well start.

At least you admit you went the wrong direction,

But no matter what,

I'll still love your flawless imperfections."
