F**k Perfection

Fri, 12/19/2014 - 14:03 -- mskeels

We are judged based on what we do

but not by the actions, no

by the number of times it happens.

The grades we get,

test scores

our weight

how much money we make.

What the hell are we supposed to do,

when we are on the wrong side of these numbers?

Are we lazy,

stupid,

overweight?

Or are we doing the best with the cards we got?

You judge me based on things that don't truly reflect

just how amazing I am.

So what the hell are we doing?

We can't please you

so why do we try?

What is the point when we do?

Once you fall behind,

you get discarded.

Thrown to the wind as if you're nothing.

Let's stand up and fight this.

The idea of perfection being a number.

Let's forgoe the pressure of perfection

and just live.

There is no point in perfection

it is but one number

that you use to judge.

Stand with me

take your place in this world

and show them that you have numbers

but they are not you.

Fuck you perfection,

you no longer control me.
