Five Hundred- Twenty Seven
Location
Come all, I have a special treat.
Hurry in now, please take a seat.
Listen as I spin you the tale
of a little girl designed to fail.
A little girl with so much age
came to grace at a tiny stage.
She looked at all the judging eyes
and felt herself die inside.
They looked at her, scoffed and gibed.
Oblivious to the things she hides.
If only they had not been so quick to doubt
maybe her time wouldn't have fun out.
For that little girl, at the age of sixteen
showed them what should never be seen.
She gathered her courage and took a breath,
anticipating what would happen next.
She lifted her sleeves, exposing her skin
and watched them gape with a satisfied grin.
Her arms held up for all to view.
Cut open and stained like a gruesome tattoo.
Her breathing hitched as she fell to the ground.
The little girl died without a sound.
A long pause engulfed the crowd.
Who knew silence could be so loud?
