First Crush

Location

Hasn't even been a day,

Yet I can already see myself falling for you.

I barely know your name,

But I want to speak it forever.

I've hardly seen your face,

However I want to admire it always.

It is a slow torture

Because I know I cannot have you.

It's a shot to the chest,

To meet someone so special

And never be able

To show how much they mean to you.

It is as if I've fallen into an unknown cave

And lain eyes on the most beautiful,

Most priceless treasure

Only to find out I can never do more

Than just see.

I will never get to touch, to feel,

To hold, to console

That beautiful treasure.

How I want to tell you, to show you,

How badly I want to be a part of your life.

How badly I want you

To be a part of mine.

I am aware

That it may only be a crush,

That it may pass one day

But who's to say it will?

As of now, I would go out of my way

Just to see if your day went well.

I want to be the one who makes you laugh

Even when you want to cry

I want to hug you tightly

And quietly tell you how amazing you are

And how much I care about you

How I want you to be mine.

But alas, all these things can only be true

In the vivid nocturnal theatre in my mind.

In reality, we can be no more than friends.

But in my thoughts, hopes and dreams,

You will always be my girl.
