Fine
You know, it's funny how we say 'sorry'
And we don't really mean it.
Yet society deems it acceptable
So we're susceptible to the hurt and
the lies and our incomprehensible demise
That starts with the words that lead to our unstoppable decline.
"I'm fine."
How? How are you "fine"?
It's implausible, unsolvable
I don't know how to stop it, though
"I'm fine."
No.
Nah, you aren't fine.
You're hiding behind the thin veil of the shine in your eyes.
Or a glimmer?
Maybe that's a shiver.
It's too cold
Inside, outside for you here and now
But you're fine, right?
The world's just on a moral decline
While the rest of us are on a sociopathic high
The high of life.
Its time, we aren't fine
We've resigned.
I have nothing left to give
So, for what do I have to live?
The weight of living that I bear on my shoulders
like holding onto boulders without a care.
Let me fall, it's better than walking the halls chanting rehearsed lines to Neanderthals
"I'm fine"
