Filtration

Pale skin, dark circles under eyes,

Thick figure, must disguise.

Save yourself from feeling safe,

Keeping what can't be erased,

Helping yourself to judging your flaws,

Your own discontentment digs in like claws.

Before the fateful time of a of touch,

Maybe hard decisions don't take too much,

Sending it out to lonesome friends,

Hiding behind filtration that only pessimism can lend.

Strip it away; what's left behind?

A beautiful life form, and a clean, thoughtful mind.

Reveal what things you would rather do without,

Before you're forced to turn the lights out.

There's nothing you can do with what they receive,

If all you do about it is weep and greive

For the person that you inevitably left discareded to the side,

Let your caged spirit out so it will never hide.
