The Fighter

Voices approached him daily
Causing him cries and screams
Stalking him during daylight
Haunting him in his dreams
But he was a fighter

He took the blows silently
Not once making a sound
Until on faithful day
He lay bleeding on the ground
But he was a fighter

A letter laid beside him
Telling them to never fear
That everything was going to be okay now
For God was standing near
Since he was a fighter

The letter continued on
About how he's won the neverending war
How they attacked him everyday
But never left a physical scar
For He saw a fighter

His father held his lifeless body
Not caring about the red
His mother cried beside him
Not believing he was dead
For he was a fighter

In the last paragraph
"For years I've known I was this way
But please tell Cameron that I loved him
That his boyfriend wished to stay"
She kissed the forehead of her now peaceful fighter
