Femme.
If I were to go back
And talk to myself from the past
I would have hated me.
I do not hate who I was.
But who I was would hate who I am.
I’m Femme,
Feminine.
Femininity,
As a boy I hated it so greatly
Self-expression
Was an oppressed profession
Freshman to Senior,
High schoolers couldn’t be meaner.
When you’re Femme,
Feminine.
Femininity,
In school, it was an act against divinity.
I grew up, before my peers
And grew into my pinks and golds.
I loved my skirts and my makeup
I’m bold.
Femme,
Feminine.
Femininity,
For me, it’s a way to defy society.
