Fearing the Future

As a child, I thought I knew the world.

Now, I know I don’t.

I have learned to fear the unknown,

And as such, I fear for me.

The future of who I will be,

Who I will have become

When my peers see me in a few years’ time.

Will there even be a me?

I may not know the world,

Or what my peers will say.

But I do know that despite this,

I will still be me.
