The Fear

Location

Have you ever looked into someone's eyes and felt something deep inside you swell up?

Your heart beats quicker.

Palms get sweaty, you wipe them on your pants in hopes not to embarass yourself.

Looking them all over and thinking about them with you.  And you hold this feeling.

You cherish the feeling almost as much as you cherish the object of your affection.

You feel a connection.  Love

Love

Love is all that can be used to describe it.

And you tell them.  You fear their reaction.

You don't want to tell them.

Your mind runs with images of negative reactions.

You fear rejection.

But with the built up courage, you decide to tell them.

You can't help it any longer, they must know.

And then the joy

oh the joy

when they smile.

They love you.

They love you too.

And you start to feel everything.  Happiness is not a word.

It is all the little things.

The cramp you get in the corner of your mouth when you smile because you're with them

The little tingle that runs through your body everytime they tell you they love you.

the warmth that builds in your chest when they smile.

and it empowers you

through the very nature of humanity.

And nothing else exists but you and them, they and you.

they are your life.  They are all you want.

And then, thoughts of doubt creep.

seep into your mind.

Wind into your soul.

Hole into your heart.

You start to fear loss.

This one person holds your heart.  They can't drop it.

but they can.

And you fear it

you fear the day when three words become five.

I don't love you anymore.
