Father and Dad Aren't the Same

All my life you weren’t there

You went on with yours, without a single care

18 years later, now you want to be a part of my life

With a woman who might as well be your wife

My mother had to raise me on her own

And it wasn’t easy working and being a mom alone

Countless mistakes I made because of your absence

And yet, you want to be absolved from your actions hence

You tell me that you owe me nothing

How dare you be so insulting

You can’t earn the right to be a father

When you can’t even be respectful to your forgotten daughter

You think that by buying me gifts and expensive things

In return, I should buy you Rolex watches and bling

I owe you nothing, not the other way around

I’m not the one who left, got a new girl, and skipped town

I’m not the one who hits women out of anger

Forever putting her unborn child’s life in danger

What kind of father drunk texts his child

Sending strange pics that fill her throat with bile

You should’ve never had children

If you didn’t plan to be an example for them

You should just get the surgery

That will never allow you to impregnate with urgency

Because the biggest mistake you made

Was trying too hard to get laid

Me
My family
