Familia

If these tan faces
Whose lips mutter pure humor
and smiles brighten my Life
Whose hearts love me even when I'm unworthy
could stay with me as long as my teeth
or the freckles on my cheeks
I wouldn’t be afraid to leave
as they would follow
and I would never know loss
or grief
If they could stay with me
I’d travel the world
knowing they’d stick along
I’d never yearn for love I’ve always had
While I continue to be young I'd  never worry
and as I begin to age
I’ll pray
 to never lose a tooth
and ask to never lose my family
