fall interpretation

Oversized sweaters,

Apple picking,

Pumpkin spice and everything nice

Wait

Everything nice?

What is autumn?

Shadows dance in alleys

wind whispers behind your back

Sky turns dark

Sun goes to hide

Moon comes out to play

Each evening the trees go to sleep

They bow their branches and put the leaves to bed

Leaves fall, masking the ground in colors of red, orange, and yellow

The cool breeze tickles the noses and cheeks of children

An aroma of pumpkin and spice linger in the air

What is autumn?

Fall is the human obsession with beauty in death

We romanticize leaves turning into warm colors even though life is being plucked through each breath

Decay

Death

Browning leaves

dreary trees

What is autumn?
