The Faceless Spectator
Their outcries are snuffed by corruption,
By power, and by corporate greed.
Their hair is grabbed, their noses pushed,
To the washing board and scrubbed.
Scrubbed, scrubbed, till their face is no more.
Till the anger, and hate, and the wish for change are hidden.
Under a bleached white cloth,
Mimicking compliance,
The Protester is silenced.
Forced to become a faceless spectator,
Silently watching their world crumble.
With some amount of integrity,
Bestowed in societies leaders,
Perhaps the cloth will be pealed back,
And the waves of Faceless Spectators,
Will protest once again.
