Eyes Wide

Wed, 10/19/2016 - 23:23 -- ocl1999

Each day starts off new,

More and more things built up to do,

I whine, I cry, I throw some fits,

All I want is sleep, that's it.

But there are things that keep my eyes wide,

Peel back my skull and awaken my mind,

An interest and yearn to keep on learning,

I guess thats what makes me get up in the morning.

I awake every day and push back the stress,

The homework, the work, the lack of time, and the tests,

I am thankful for the opportunities I get,

I jump at the chance to benefit.

Every day I aspire to become the best me,

There's nothing else in the world I'd rather be

So even if the day is doomed,

My eyes will remain wide and ammused.
