Eye By Gray

When the loud sounds about him cease to ring out,

He breathes a sigh of elation and sorrow.

This harsh bout with the beast is now his to taut;

Though he will do it now feeling quite hollow.

 

Later, his eyes drip on the flower he sees.

Drops precipitate off the flower in hearts,

 And fall on a gray ground surrounded by trees.

This startles nature, and a dark raven darts.

 

No word has he seen from the faraway land;

Why did this occupation ever occur?

All he can do is walk by the sea and stand.

The flowers are his, but really are for her
