Everything and Steve

First of all
Why is everyone so tall
Why am I considered short
Can't play in the basketball court
What is with this concept of love
Why is a symbol of it a dove
What proves his love is true
If he lies, can I sue?

Way back in time
Having a loan was like a crime
But now it's accepted
And is even expected
The US alone has debt over $16 trill
For so much money, one might kill
I wish we were more wise with money
Instead of thinking it's all so funny
Maybe then our schools would be efficient
So our students could be more proficient
Perhaps then we could focus on our economy
As you can tell, there's a cavity in its autonomy
The rich and poor and all between
Say they pay too much and are too lean
Yet their weight is obviously gaining
And the health rate is waning
Our kids are all obese
Too lean? Oh please.

“I have the right to do this”
What in gov did this kid miss?
Or how did his mother fail to mention
The rules in between filled with tension
Every action has a consequence
Whether positive or negative, I say this with confidence
You push the cart and it will move
What ‘right’ do you seek to prove
The teacher talks and you talk back
It’s manners that you obviously lack
True, you have the right to speak as you wish
All the more reason of your dreams they’ll squish
For you’ll come to realize that in life
Speaking your mind will often cause you strife
At least learn when to speak
Because not speaking doesn't make you weak

Rather, your silence can be a strength
Which I can explain at length
I could go on and on all day
But there is much else to say

You know what I dislike
What makes my temper spike
Technology
I love it, but it drives me crazy
All eyes glued to the screen
Their senses no longer so keen
Evolution is at hand
But our changing is quite bland
This guy behind me is 17 and can't hear
This girl is 14 and can only see what's really near
I mean, I like my ebooks all the same
And I really want to play this new game
But I see myself falling to my phone
No skills left to hone
All lost to the electronic device
So let me give you some advice

Don't get a game console
Get your physical game on a roll
Manage your money well
Save and save, and time will tell
Be careful of what you say
Your 'rights' won't always save the day
Eat fruit and veggies so you won't be short
Build a castle and call it the "anti-love" fort
But one more thing before you leave
The last thought on my mind is this guy named Steve
