Everlasting Scarf
I used to be a tangled hank
Waiting to be wound
Until we found a project in one another
We began to work together
To create a mile long scarf of our time
You never allow me to feel like a dropped stitch
Forgotten and ready to untangle
And when I do, you pick me up
Easily like the crochet hook
That you have become for me
We’re far from casting off
But we are blocking all the way through
Since the chain we first created
And ever since been stitching
With full hearts, together
We have been working on our garter
No row counter can keep up
With how far we have gone now
I am in no need of a stitch holder
Since we work so naturally
We might have a few buttonhole bands
But even those are carefully knitted
Among the perfect rows we have completed
We have been getting a little fancier lately
I have noticed that we have been stranding
I pray that we have an everlasting running stitch
That this can go on forever
And keep us both warm when we need it
