In the end

To give in or never give up

Yet sometimes giving in is harder,

Better.

The world lashes around

A whirlwind of hurt

Yet, would it not hurt more to let it go,

Leave it to the one who loves all?

What is it about us?

Humans who hold on

Allowing the bad to drag us down

Into an eternity of darkness, despair.

But He who loves us

Whishes not harmful memories upon us,

A wish of beautiful times

Ones of the light in the world and peace in the heart,

That is what He wishes.

Of the two one will withstand

Overpower the weakest in our heart

If love is so powerful

What is it about darkness that infects us so?

The dark tendons sticking to our mind

Entangling our body

And leaving us to suffocate?

What makes the light so hard to see?

Just beyond the night the sun arises

Spreading light rays of hope

The darkness recoils

Only if we let go

For in its suffocating nature

We latch on

Unable to end the suffering on ourselves

Unable to let go of the darkness wrapping around us
