The end

The end.

So many of us fear it.

Being forgotten,

being gone-

just not being anymore.

But if these first 100 days have told me anything,

If I'm learning from my mistakes,

it's that the end is near for too many of us,

and we need to make sure our lives were lived.

So maybe some people will say we need to be tolerant of other viewpoints,

or be more respectable in our methods,

or dozens of other things the pronounce our rights "not earned".

But I think it's time for us to rise up and protest,

it's time for us to see our futures and run for them,

and while we may die getting there,

at least people might say:

"These people fought for us,

these people died or us,

these people lived once upon a time."
