The Empty children

The lack of silence
The overwhelming threat of violence
The smiles lost to the crowded street
The fury and rage that metastasize
Along with all the grief

The empty struggles of children with empty eyes
The hollowed out stomachs
And fired up tounges
Are squelched by the heat of the not so happy sun

The hollowed out children
Searching for something to fill
Themselves they kill
Themselves and will
Keep searching as ghosts just as desperate

But they will never be filled because
Their struggles are empty
And so are their eyes
Their stomached are caverns
And so are their homes

As the empty eyed children tap their hollow stomached to the rhythm of change
They begin to wander
And
Wonder
If their hearts are empty too
