THE EMERALD MASK

Location

The truth is hidden in plain sight

The compassion I hold for those so dear

My indifference towards apathy

The passion I have for animals.

All of this and more, is hidden behind a mask,

A fortress, built around my heart,

Protecting, and guarding me from pain.

But pushing all the same, forcing away friends, family and loved ones.

The mask is a selfish being of my own design,

Only obscuring the beauty beneath,

So no one not even I can see what is truly hidden inside.

Beautiful poem

Naner77

wow. powerful words. to discover yourself you must discover what you value most in life.  I discovered that mostly everything I do is out of Love for God. He is Love, so I want to persue a closer relationship with Him. He brings meaning to my life.  Ask yourself what you value most.
