Elusive Time Ana M M King Hillsborough Co
Like a caged bird that is released,
An escape flight with no return,
Time flies and can not be appeased.
My longing stands and quickly burns,
With the fiery sparks of time.
Time’s marching straight path never turns.
A ladder ascending we climb ,
Though we try at times to get down ,
Backed only with a fantasy mind.
Youth once so strong was my gold crown.
In etched melting memory files,
Illusions of youth quickly drown.
Odometer of traveled miles,
Stays in constant forward motion.
Hope the car keeps going for long whiles.
