Education Nation

I live in America, a sovereign Nation.

I have a home and an education.

I know how it feels to have a bedroom at night,

with a flick of a switch I have access to light.

My family always has food and clean water,

my mother has many nice dresses we bought her.

I am thankful for all that I can say's mine

but I know there are many less lucky than I.

Many children grow hungry and cold all alone

Without access to water, a school, or a home.

The world fights abortion so kids have a chance

but do kids with no schools get a say or a stance?

They have so much potential but no way to grow

they could become doctors or stars in a show,

but many of them have no hope and no future

this problem's so large it would take years to suture

Our hearts have grown distant and cold like the snow

what these kids could've been, there's no way to know

This poem is about:
Me
My family
My community
My country
Our world
