An Eclipse

Tue, 02/16/2016 - 22:12 -- TyreeJ

Sun

Stagnant and unmoved,

But moved by the moon.

Captivated by its earthy,

Deep, rich aura.

Unable to approach

Its mystic lonesome beauty.

Stagnant and unmoved

But able to desire and choose.

Moon

Feeds off of the sun,

Glowing when the Earth retires.

Is nothing without the sun's

Powerful, fulfulling fire.

But infrequently,

The moon's orbit aligns

Parallel to the sun -

The quintessence of all that is divine

An eclipse that shadows all

A moment so immense...

But to the universe, so small.

The eclipse unfortunately must disperse,

but then

The sun and moon make perfection again.

Even if our next eclipse is not soon,

You are my sun, and I, your moon.
