White, blinding, suffocating, too close, too close!
She is shrinking, surely,or else the walls have grown
She cannot bear to go into the room
She knows what she will find
WIRES
BEEPING
TUBES
THE MASK
a fading husk
so small in the sheets
IT CAN'T BE! IT ISN'T HER!
She flees , dashing as the others shout
WAIT
COME BACK
IT'S OKAY
COME BACK
COME BACK
but she can't.
The echoes chase her
weapons ready to stab
her breaking heart
She collapses
dissolves in tears
gives in to her greatest fears
A voice above her the echo repeats
Sorry, dear, her heart has had it's final beat.
GONE! HER MOTHER, SO ALIVE!
GONE! IS HEAVEN SATISFIED?
And yet she sees her mother still
there are some things you cannot kill.
