Ebrahim Gaibe

You know how cartoons run off the edge of a cliff,

And hover a second before they descend?

Well, I’ve been hovering for a long time now,

Waiting for the day when I’d break and fall to my end.

I haven’t smiled for quite some time now,

No laughter or happiness travels my way.

I sit alone and cry songs of loneliness and sorrow

And patiently await a better day.

What we had was Yin and Yang.

A love that was honest and true as Abe.

In heat and despair you took your life,

And selfishly left me alone, my darling Ebrahim Gaibe.
