Up Early

The dog lazily snores on

From her perch upon my bed

My radio blasts a noisy song

Yet she doesn't raise her head

.

I move to wake my sister

She groans into her pillow

"If I were her bed," I whisper

"I'd fling her like a Whomping Willow"

.

I hate getting up so long before dawn

I long for when i can just sleep on
