Each New Day

Waking up to greet the day,

Alarm clock buzzing,

I'm still dreaming,

Not ready for a new day.

Tails are wagging,

Sun is shining,

Birds are singing,

I must get up and face the day.

Today is going to be good,

A prayer is said

Before I leave my bed.

Nothing but smiles for the day.

A to-do list is made,

Hugs from my family,

Fresh coffee in a cup,

Nothing but happiness to start the day.

I greet the morning with doubt at first,

Quickly realize my blessing abound.

I greet each new day with respect,

Choosing to be happy all around.
