Drowned
Location
My love was like the ocean
and I could see him slowly drifting from my shore.
Every day he waded further,
’Til I could see his face no more.
I lost him.
I followed in his footsteps,
Desperately doggy paddling towards him,
Reaching out for a hand that wasn’t outstretched
And hoping he save me on a whim.
I was sinking.
Bubbles wiggled out of my nose,
My eyes shutting every centimeter I sunk.
Oh, how I wished he would have saved me
From my poor heart; love-drunk.
I was fading.
The sea began cradling me,
Lulling me into a trance.
My body wooshed and swayed,
Giving a new meaning to dance.
He was gone.
