Drown

You are an undertow

that I cannot escape.
Please, take my breath,
I don't ever want to surface.
I have always been
in love with the ocean;
but never jumped in
without being spit
back out again,
cut up on the rocky shores
I've been swimming from
for as long as I can recall.
So pull me into you again,
tumbling and fervent;
you are the first seaway
that has asked me to stay.
