Dresses I have never worn

Dresses I have never worn
Lie quietly in dark places
That I have never dared to step.
At times, I take them out and wonder
What it might be like to slip them on and walk them.

But many, they just don't fit and so they sit
Glittering with something I can't quite put my finger on
And I am left wondering and aware that I
Am more hollow than I need to be; unstretched
With songs that only I can sing, unbegun.
