Dreaming

I imagine our life together in the way that I know

I want a white house and a red door

A little garden and a kitchen with "clean lines"

Two kids, maybe twins

The nursery for one will be grey and white and yellow

And the other blue and green

We won't really yell at the dog for accidentally tracking mud in the house

And we'll let him teach our children to play in it too

Because life is better when you're having fun, and sometimes you need to sacrifice laundry to figure that out.

And sometimes when I close my eyes tight, I can feel your arms around me

Or smell the fresh baked bread I'll make

Or even taste the ice cream that we'll get from the truck after we take the kids to the park.

I can't wait.

Just a couple months ago I laughed at people who had their future all planned out

But look at me now

I know exactly what I want

And what I want is you and me.
