What is a dream?

“A dream is a wish your heart makes

When you’re fast asleep…”

Being a part of Disney magic

In any way I can

Is my dream

 

“In dreams you will lose your heartaches

Whatever you wish for you keep…”

I am going to study Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management

At my local university

People think the university I am going to attend is a joke

It is not nearly as tough to get into,

Or as expensive as other universities

So to them it is a left over school where all the people

Who can’t make it into higher places go

I am smart

I am ranked number 13 in my class

I could make it at other universities

But I don’t feel the need to leave home

It may be because I am scared to be on my own

I can tell they think I am stupid

For dreaming I could be a manager

Of a Disney resort or restaurant

And for going to the university I am going to

 

“Have faith in your dreams and someday

Your rainbow will come smiling through…”

I am keeping the faith in my heart that I will reach my dream job

 

“No matter how your heart is grieving…”

But it is hard when the weak part of me thinks they may be right

I am going to be 1 of millions in the world

To apply for the Walt Disney World Internship program

What makes me think I will be accepted if I’m not even attending a

Topnotch university

 

“If you keep on believing…”

But the stronger side of me reminds me that I can’t let their words get to me

The only thing that is holding me back is me

I must always believe in my dreams

I WILL attend my local university

I WILL receive a proper education

I WILL apply for the internship at Disney World, and

I WILL be part of the magic

 

Disney has given me hope that dreams can come true,

This is the reason I want to work there, to do my part in keeping

The hope and magic alive in the hearts of all people

I know deep in my heart

“The dream that I wish WILL COME TRUE.”
