This is the Dream Don’t You Forget

We are the warriors,

The ones fighting to make the world a better place,

Even when others are telling us it can’t be done.

Race, culture, upbringing be gone.

We are the doctors and lawyers and soldiers,

We are the ones who when we were told couldn’t do it, did it because we wanted to,

And that’s what this place is all about, America land of the free,

The place where you can be anything,

And that’s the dream that never leaves.

Many people have lost sight of it, but it’s still there.

So even with all the injustices in the world if you want it bad enough you can have it,

And if you see something wrong in the world then you can change it,

Because that’s the American way.

There are 7.5 billion people on this planet,

And I was lucky enough to be born an American,

Because here is where I make my life count.

This poem is about:
My country
Our world
