The Downfall

The days were normal as we carried on.

Falling started and balance gone awry

As she went not knowing she would be gone;

The stomach lump that made us say goodbye.

The specialist told us the grim news that

Changed our ways from that point on in our life.

The surgery went as planned as the mat

Of black fur saw God along with the rife.

Oozing, as the fluid of life burst while

It took her away during the dark night.

The pain she suffered written in her file,

All for nothing until she reached the light.

But, as she was ripped away from our home,

I know the pain has ceased in His great dome.
