In the darkness--

The space between stars--

Creation's manifest

In mysteries stark.

Without light, unseen:

Dark matters wrought.

Caged birds caw to see

And speculate silhouette-marks:

                                                                          From Eden,

                                                                          Cast far;

                                                                          The fruit was the key--

                                                                          But we are of sight

                                                                          And do we breathe

                                                                          In absence of light?

                                                                          For there He dwells,

                                                                          And He called for light--

                                                                          The abrasions of black--

                                                                          And thereafter, Earth

                                                                         And matters in our eyes,

                                                                         Feeble and small

                                                                         Under matters unseen.

Hark, our God:

Enigma unseen,

The caged bird fathoms,

Though never greets;

He is infinity--

He encircles--

Distant stars inside space:

Darkness omnipotent, blackness infinite.

Always was,

Always is,

Always will be:

The Alpha, Omega, The Alpha,

Indestructible, induplicable--

Committing matters dark

In mysteries stark.
