Do more

Dear Future self,

Do more. Do more things that bring you joy and happiness. Do more things that make you uncomfortable and that scare you. Experience as much as you possibly can. The good, the bad, everything. Experience brings wisdom and life. The more you do, the more you know, and knowledge is power. It is cheesy, but when you are old and dying, your only thoughts will be about the things you wish you did when you were young and able. You will no longer be able to do these things. You will not be thinking about all of the mistakes you made or regrets you have because your mistakes have shaped you to be who you are. Just do. Don't weigh out the pros and cons, you will always back out of it when you do that. Live in the moment. This means not getting caught up in your past life or your past actions because they are in the past. Don't think about the future too much either because the majority of it is completely out of your hands. Life only exists in the present moment. The moments where you decide to BE instead of thinking. I can not emphasize this enough; just BE! It is so simple yet easier said than done. Don't get me wrong though, it is important to plan for the future in order to ensure that you are meeting goals and setting yourself up for success. However, only think about the things you can control, not all of the extra stuff. The ultimate point of this is to be mindful of your thoughts in the moment and to experience as much as possible.
