Disorientation
We are not a family
We are closely acquainted strangers
dwelling in ignorance of each others
scarred hearts. We are like the waves
of an ocean crashing into one another,
but with a gentle force, afraid of being shattered
like a broken mirror.
Once upon a time we were steadfast, carrying
each other, proudly bearing our hearts on our sleeves.
Once upon a time we were displaying all our emotions
without the fear of being taken advantage of.
But what once was in not anymore.
We became disoriented.
