Devine Appointment

Met someone on the side of the road

Needed a ride and I couldn’t say no

A t-shirt and jeans and a five dollar bill

The offer convincing but still

I told her to hop in, I’d give her a ride

After a few seconds I knew why she was inside

There are stories to tell for miles

And then there are memories that last forever

I’ve never met her before nor will I see her again

Yet this day she let a stranger in

I thought I was the one opening up my life to her

I mean a stranger sitting next to me in my front seat

If that’s still what I thought how wrong I would be

In a matter of minutes she poured out her heart

All of her fears and failures and the greatest gift

She and I were given an opportunity to care for a stranger

I never expected to share my testimony today

And I’ve never had a stranger tell me theirs

Her life isn’t easy it’s far from even difficult

It’s life and I will forever be praying for her

My life was changed in a mere moment today

What could God do if we gave him all we do

Every second of every day we breathe

He’d change everything we believe
