"The Desert"

The sun bears into my skin

When the sweat trickles down my skin

Cascading like salty tears

On my rosy red cheeks

I lie on the grainy sand

Feeling the little beads beneath my fingertips

Striking them like balls of soft flames

As I melt into the soft earth

I see the sun on the horizon

Setting behind the cacti

Greeting the animals

Saying goodbye to me

Beyond the sandy ground

I spot the purest blue

Under the glittering sun

Mapping out my escape
