Dejection
This whole year is all a giant blur to me.
Ask me about specific happenings,
And I'll recount them to you faithfully.
While not all bad, 'Sixteen was saddening.
I lose my first grandparent April past,
And then in May my friends all graduate.
This summer starts a year of lasts,
Th'election choler and alarm conflates.
I'm swiftly losing all self-confidence.
I'm s'posed to leave for college soon,
But how, when all I am is fraudulent?
To fix it all, I've only got 'til June.
And as I walk this treach'rous, slipp'ry slope,
I fool myself that 'Seventeen has hope.
