Defying Gravity

Location

You

Make me feel like

            A million desperate little pieces

Aching to hold each other together

When your hand is in mine

I feel like defying gravity.

I am falling

Or maybe I’m jumping

            The free-fall is brief

The landing is briefer still

The aftermath is limitless as

            An ocean is limitless-

The oblivion I fall into,

The falling in which I dive

Is worth every

            Little

            Breath

            It

            Takes

            Away

Because every step

I take

            In the air

Is a free-fall jump

Closer to you

            Closer to you;

I am sinking

Or maybe I’m floating

Into the brief infinity

Of life

            That you call yourself

Catch

            Me

                        If

                                    You

Can; Take hold

And never drop my hand

For I am hanging onto you

            And you’re hanging on too

Despite

The ifs

            The buts

                        The fears, doubts, and

Never ending

Possibilities

            I am a possibility

But so are you

Defying gravity

            Is hard to do.
