The Definition of Beauty

Society’s definition of beauty is highly skewed
Depicting only images of skinny people is rude

You don’t need to ne stick thin to be pretty
Beauty can be found in people who are witty

Our society reflects beauty based on one’s weight
Their character is what we really should rate

Everyone is beautiful inside and out
Living a healthy lifestyle is what beauty should be about

The diet industry advertises “quick fixes” to help people lose weight
These methods are costly, ineffective and cause weight loss at an unhealthy rate

People expect to lose ten pounds in a week
Lifestyles of healthy eating and exercise is what they should seek

Being healthy and beautiful is not about starvation and no snacks
Knowledge about exercise and nutrition is what each consumer lacks

Teens and young adults strive to look like models they see
But these images are not real, they’re photo shopped as can be

Even the models are not as thin as we think
Images of real women with curves is the missing link

The one thing I’d change about the world if I could
Is our society’s definition of beauty, it’s not represented how I feel it should
