Definitely Different
Storms hit,
Yet peace is later restored
This life, that is an ocean
Makes me into the exotic creature that
I now am
It claimed my heart
since my childhood
It’s power and serenity,
enticed me
Yet as I grew up
I noticed how it could bring so much
destruction.
Instantly.
High tides,
I would rather avoid them.
It draws images of past memories
That should‘ve been burned out of my thoughts
My darkness seemed everlasting,
Overwhelming.
I was drowning in my conscience.
Hope soon failed at my final hour
The flame withered away.
I was weak,
An utter failure.
I was no longer strong,
Powerful like my second home
Thank goodness my low tide soon came.
The waves resemble a beat to me
The patterns, a harmony among them
The ocean has it’s own song, just as I do
I perform my heart out for
One evening
One drop of sweat at a time,
Not for my glory.
I’m meant to feel this.
The adrenaline,
Comradery,
That same peace I experience in the ocean.
I find my destiny within this domain
I am meant for greatness
that will be accomplished with my weaknesses
