The defect that is unrequited love

Is it love?

Is it love if I'm the only one in it?

Is it love if it's unrequited?

If it's not returned?

I sacrifice my humility for you.

I confess my desire for you.

And it's not returned.

So it is love?

Or just a desire for you to want me as much as I want you.

Is it love if I'm begging you to see all the beauty and

blessings I have to offer underneath my ugly?

Is it love if you can't even see who I am?

No.

Because if it was love, you'd be falling too.

Because if it was love, you'd not stare into my eyes with pity

as I yearn for your adoration.

Because if it was love, you'd love me too.

Thank you for your kind words!

This is the first time I've received this compliment - "you really have a way with words"

I will keep it close to my heart, you made my week.
