Deceiving Thoughts

What a powerful thing

The way the mind works

Deflecting and hiding

To keep from feeling hurt

Physically,

as well as emotional

Convincing lies

To stay on this rollercoaster

To tell yourself that actions

Were acts of truth and love

When really you were blinded

By what your mind was thinking of

Portrayed to seem real

No flags were ever raised

Forever burdened with said "love"

In which your mind has been engraved

So much so,

No one could prove otherwise

Embracing said flags

And your ultimate demise
