The Debater

You’re the fire

I’ve been searching for

Of great flames

And great allure

The debater

I always swore

Would end up in white

For a big day

Between Church doors

Yell at me when

I’m wrong

Make me beg for your attention

Because you're greater than any comparison

I could ever mention

Tell me I’m wrong

And prove it perfectly

Soundly, lovely, respectfully

Your confidence damns me

You're amazingly beautiful

Everything I want to see

You’re the princess

Disney failed to find

You’re that terribly perfect thought

Trapped in my mind

You’re the reason I write poetry

The reason I rhyme

You’re the weakness in my knees

You mean everything to me

You are mine,

Mine to be
