Dear Teacher

Location

Dear Teacher I am listening

I can hear all that you say

And when I put my head down

Dreams don't whisk me away

I'm still here in this classroom

Hearing the same thing day after day

So please stop your lecturing

I have better things due today

I'll add a little note

On the side just for you

To remind you that I have others

Teachers just like you

Who teach a different subject

But give assignments just the same

So the Homework that you give me

Is more than enough for today

You Teachers like to say

That I don't care what lies ahead

But who are you to say

What goes on inside my head

The future's all I think about

It's running through my mind

So you have no authority

To say what isn't right
